Cookies

When visiting this website, information texts (“cookies”) are stored on the user’s computer, which allows the website to recognize the user during subsequent visits. This makes it possible for the website to be optimally adapted to the interests of the user.

Users who do not consent to the storage of cookies on their computer can disable the use of cookies in their browser. If they do so, it is possible that they may not be able to make full use of all the features of this website.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, which are text files that are stored on users’ computers and that make an analysis of the use of the website possible. The information generated by the cookie regarding the use of this website (including users’ IP addresses) is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.

Google uses this information for the purpose of evaluating the use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services related to website activity and Internet usage.

Google may also transfer this information to third parties if so required by law or if these third parties process this data on behalf of Google. Google will never associate user IP addresses with other data of Google.

Users can prevent the installation of cookies by a corresponding browser setting. If they do so, it is possible that they may not be able to make full use of all the features of this website. By using this website, the user agrees to the processing of the data collected about them by Google in the manner described above and for the purpose stated above.

Social plugins
This website uses plugins/features of the social networks Facebook, Twitter and others. For privacy reasons, these are disabled by default and must be explicitly activated by the user in order to be used.

Before your activate these, VBC recommends that you note the following regarding the individual providers:

Facebook
This website uses social plugins from the social network facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA.

Once the plugin has been activated, a direct connection between the user’s browser and the Facebook server is established. Facebook receives the information that the user has visited this website with his IP address. If you click on the Facebook “Like” button while you are logged in to your Facebook account, contents of the VBC pages can be linked to your Facebook profile. This allows Facebook to associate the visit of the VBC pages with the user account.

VBC points out that VBC, as the provider of the pages, is not aware of the content of the transmitted data and their use by Facebook. More information can be found in Facebook's privacy policy under http://de-de.facebook.com/policy.php. If users do not want Facebook to associate visits to VBC pages with their Facebook user account, they must log out of their Facebook user account.

Twitter
Features of the service Twitter are integrated on the VBC pages. These features are provided by Twitter Inc., Twitter, Inc. 1355 Market St., Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. By using Twitter and the “Retweet” feature, the visited websites are linked to the user's Twitter account and shared with other users. This also involves transmission of data to Twitter.

VBC points out that VBC, as the provider of the pages, is not aware of the content of the transmitted data and their use by Twitter. For more information in this regard, please visit Twitter's Privacy Policy at http://twitter.com/privacy. The privacy settings on Twitter can be changed in your account settings.

Google+
The Google +1 button allows information to be published worldwide. The Google +1 button provides users and other users with personalized content from Google and its partners. Google stores both the fact that you have given a piece of content a +1 and information about the page you were viewing when you clicked +1. A +1 can be displayed together with your profile name and photo in Google services, for example in search results or in Google profile, or in other places on websites and advertisements on the Internet.

Google records information about +1 activity to improve Google's services. To use the Google +1 button, you need a globally visible, public Google profile that must contain at least the name chosen for the profile. This name will be used in all Google services. In some cases, this name may also replace a different name that you have used to share content via your Google account. The identity of your Google profile may be displayed to users who know your email address or have other information that identifies you.

In addition to the uses outlined above, the information you provide will be used in accordance with the applicable Google data protection policies. Google may publish summarized statistics about users' +1 activity or share it with users and partners, such as publishers, advertisers or affiliate websites.
